Description

In this instant New York Times bestselling account of violence and espionage, Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter Ronan Farrow exposes serial abusers and a cabal of powerful interests hell-bent on covering up the truth, at any cost.
In 2017, a routine network television investigation led Ronan Farrow to a story only whispered about: one of Hollywood's most powerful producers was a predator, protected by fear, wealth, and a conspiracy of silence. As Farrow drew closer to the truth, shadowy operatives, from high-priced lawyers to elite war-hardened spies, mounted a secret campaign of intimidation, threatening his career, following his every move, and weaponizing an account of abuse in his own family.
All the while, Farrow and his producer faced a degree of resistance they could not explain -- until now. And a trail of clues revealed corruption and cover-ups from Hollywood to Washington and beyond.
This is the untold story of the exotic tactics of surveillance and intimidation deployed by wealthy and connected men to threaten journalists, evade accountability, and silence victims of abuse. And it's the story of the women who risked everything to expose the truth and spark a global movement.

Both a spy thriller and a meticulous work of investigative journalism, Catch and Kill breaks devastating new stories about the rampant abuse of power and sheds far-reaching light on investigations that shook our culture.

Excellent and gut wrenching. Details the spectacular failure of those who serve in positions meant to protect, but instead, abuse. This book is a tough read at times, but Ronan approaches the victims stories with layers of thoughtfulness and respect. I respect the hell out of this man for shinning a light in dark corners (along with all the other people who did the same, and are mentioned in this book). It is a book everyone must read.

Simply a smart, literate, harrowing account of the obstacles placed by men in power, every step of the way, towards an ugly truth too long ignored. Couldn’t put it down.

Stellar. Moving. Unforgettable. Courageous. Inspiring. Therapeutic. Gratefulness. Authentic. Compassion. Educational. Fair. I could not put this down. iBook was an important assist due to so many characters, and some new vocabulary. iBook was the best way to read this! I talked to everyone about it. I did discourage my DH from reading it as he would not stomach some of it. He does better with fictional violence. Not that this was too medical or morbid. Factual and compassionate somehow. Almost every modern woman can empathize. So much courage. Thank you Ronan and every one who made this back happen. PS Jonathon, Ronan is a keeper. As are you. :-)

I cannot say enough how much I loved this book. Ronan Farrow did such an amazing job stripping the mask of the powerful men in media, politics and the press who try to stamp out women. Ronan and all of his sources and supporters are brave, powerful and so bold to speak their truth. This book will stick with me for a long long time.
  • Beast read of bravery, courage, and cowardliness

This book is amazing and the disgusting encounters these women had with Weinstein needed to be told. NBC is a coward of a company and doesn’t protect women. Ronan was honest, transparent, and human.
