In a powerful, smoldering novel from the bestselling authors of the Caldwell Brothers series (“Bad boy heroes to die for!”—Tracy Wolff), two tortured souls team up to overcome the past, finding the courage to heal . . . and to love.

Jason “Cobra” Stanley was born to fight. With a father like his, he had to toughen up just to survive. Now Cobra tries to take out all of his frustration, all of his anger, and all of his pain in the MMA cage. But after he receives one too many hits to the head during a match, the cycle of violence comes to a screeching halt. Cobra wakes up in the hospital, under the care of a nurse whose blond hair shines like a halo—and whose pure heart touches him on the deepest level.

Lorraine Bosch is a fighter too. The lone survivor of a chilling family tragedy, she prides herself on remaining professional, despite the chaos of the ER. But Cobra is the ultimate distraction. Lorraine knows she should run away screaming from his rippling muscles and shattered psyche. And yet how can she deny this broken man a second chance—especially since she knows exactly what he’s been through? Lorraine’s used to playing guardian angel. Now it’s her turn to find heaven in Cobra’s arms.

What a fabulous story!! Two horribly broken people defeated by their past, struggling to gain strength from each other's love.... Jason "Cobra" is the educated, hard-working son of a local politician by day and by night, he is Cobra taking out his aggression in the MMA cage for the childhood he fought to survive. Lorraine (Lo) is carrying the heavy scars of loosing her mother, father and twin sister in a horrendous attack that left Lo struggling to clearly see wrong and right. These two find each other in the midst of all of this and learn, grow and gain strength from each other. Finally finding the one person that understands you and lives to help you make it through is priceless and while these two struggled through a ton of bad history to get here, they found something perfect for them and the answers to all their unanswered questions. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended book!!
  • Loved it!

This is a very emotional story about two people who are broken by their pasts. Together they are explosively hot and fiercely protective. Can their love beak through what they have experienced in their past? This book is full of twists that catch you off guard. It is really hot and really emotional. It will keep your own your toes and pulling for these two to be released from their own tragedy's. These two authors write so well together. I love their stories! I was thrilled to read this one as an extension from the Caldwell series! You don't have to read that series to read this book, but if you like this one, grab that series!
  • Dark and dirty

Wow this one had all kinds of messed up stuff going on. Jason “Cobra” Stanley was not a nice man. His father messed with his head his whole life forming him into the hardened angry man he is now. The only person who has ever gotten to him is in love with another man. So he throws his anger into the ring at underground MMA fights until one night one hard punch lands him in the hospital. That's were he meets his angel. The last thing Lorraine Bosch needs in her life is a man as messed up as Jason Stanley. She has a houseful of demons she's fighting herself. The two together seem to be just what the other needs to heal. Could it be that these two broken people can find the peace and love they both desperately need? Definitely not your light fluffy romance. It's gritty, raw, and dirty but in a strange twisted way it feels real. I would recommend this one to everyone who enjoys their romance on the dark side!

Jason & Lo What a story. Jason sees him self as a monster. Lo sees her self as broken. They both have demons to work on. Loved all the twists in this story. Jason is Lo's rock. She only sees the good in Jason. Lo is Jason calm. She centers him and makes him want to be the best man he can for her. They went through so much apart and so much together. There connection is instant. So glad they found each other. Read this in a day. Could not put this book down. Had to know what would happen next. Amazing
  • Jason and Lo!

    By ~Mindy Lou~
When I saw that this book was about Jason, who we learned about in Jagger's story, I was glad to see he was going to get his HEA. We learned he had an abusive father growing up and that he was stepping into his fathers shoes. I really wanted to see him heal and become the better man with the love of his life. We do get that in this story, but not before we get an up close picture of his volatile relationship with Missy. This book could be a trigger. I've never read a book where the H was being abusive. In the past yes, but not in the present. I have to say, it made it hard to want to read this story at first. The girl he was abusive too, was just as abusive to him and their relationship was very toxic. It doesn't make it better or right, just not an easy thing to read about. I give props to the authors for taking on such a sensitive subject. It will definately cause some controversy. The good thing is he splits with Missy in the beginning so we don't have to read this violent relationship for long before he meets the woman who helps him heal, however, she had a lot of issues herself. I admit, I'm a bit conflicted with how I feel about this book because of Jason's abuse against his ex but I can say, the authors did redeem him to me by the end of the story.
